The two easiest ways to get to Feng Shan are from Nanning (南宁) or Hechi (河池). If you are traveling over land from the East you can take a bus to Hechi. If you are traveling from the South you can travel first to Nanning. Nanning is the capital city of Guangxi province and has an international airport, a bus station with connections to many cities in China and a train station. If you are traveling from the West, Kunming (昆明) is the nearest well known big city and you can travel to Bose (百色) and then on to Fengshan. To the North you could come from Guiyang (贵阳) and travel to Hechi and on to Fengshan. Feng in Chinese means Phoenix and shan means mountain. Here are the old and new characters: 鳯山 (old) & 凤山 (new).
